As back to school approaches (well it has now actually past and I am only now getting this blog on my website - oops!), I can’t help but think of the parallels between education and giving birth.
I am not ashamed to say that I am a bit of a wimp. I jump when I see a spider, I can’t watch horror films and I was the one who always volunteered to hold the coats, bags and cameras (remember them?!) whilst my friends went on the rollercoaster. And so, you can imagine how I may have felt about the unknown of giving birth….
The combination of work/being busy, feeling excitement and perhaps anxiety on becoming a parent, oh and maybe making minor changes to your home such as building an extension (we love to put that pressure on ourselves in the lead up to birth), doesn’t breed relaxation. How are you supposed to relax now, let alone whilst you are in labour, and then (gulp) become a parent??
It is that time of year again. Sit down, relax (with a bowl of strawberries of course) and watch the likes of Murray and Williams play to their full potential. After much practice, and physical and mental preparation, they are ready to win. Giving birth is no different. Here are some hypnobirthing musts that will help you play your A game.
